Deutsche Bank has hired Esther Wong as managing director and group head of a wealth management team in southeast Asia.
Based in Singapore, Wong is due to start in January and will report to Anurag Mahesh, vice chairman and interim head of Deutsche’s international private bank in southeast Asia.
Wong will focus on further expanding the footprint of the international private bank southeast Asian business.
She joins from JP Morgan, where she spent more than 10 years focused on the ultra-high-net-worth client segment. Prior to that, she spent five years at UBS.
“We are pleased to welcome Esther to our IPB [international private bank] team in southeast Asia, a region where we will continue to invest in the very best talent to achieve our ambitious growth targets,” said Mahesh. “This is a key region for IPB APAC and I’m confident Esther’s appointment will drive additional positive momentum.”
