Indosuez WM makes four senior appointments
Indosuez Wealth Management, the global wealth management brand of Crédit Agricole Group, has relocated Bernard Mueller from Geneva to head of risk for Asia and for the firm’s Singapore branch Previously, he was head of credit & risk wealth management for Indosuez in Switzerland.
Kristin Chung takes on the role of head of risk for Indosuez’s Hong Kong SAR branch and reports to Mueller. Prior to Indosuez, she was the head of credit risk in HSBC Private Bank in Hong Kong SAR, where she led the credit & product risk team, covering the Hong Kong SAR booking centre while supporting the private banking centres in Singapore and Taiwan.
Eric Chan has been appointed senior director, investment advisory for Indosuez’s Hong Kong SAR Branch. He has experience providing investment advisory and portfolio management advice to high worth clients across multi-asset classes. Prior to joining Indosuez, Chan was director, investment advisor at Julius Baer.
Anthony Cheng has also been hired as a senior director, investment advisory for the Hong Kong SAR branch. He has particular experience in structured products, and before Indosuez, he was with Deutsche Bank, Private Wealth, Hong Kong SAR, where he was responsible for driving the internal product launch of cross asset structured products.
Credit Suisse strengthens North Asia bench
Credit Suisse has hired a second market leader and several senior bankers to bolster its Greater China team.
Stella Lau will arrive in August to work with John Huang, as the second private banking market leader for Greater China Singapore. She rejoins Credit Suisse from JP Morgan, where she spent four years as head of China market, focused on the Chinese ultra-high-net-worth and family office segments. Lau began her wealth management career at Citi in 1997 and has also worked at Credit Suisse and UBS.
Credit Suisse has also hired five other senior bankers including Shirley Li, Teresa Tam, Sanjeev Sharma, Yandy Tano, and Jae-Ock Li
Based in Hong Kong, Li and Tam will focus on the China and Hong Kong markets, respectively. Li joins from CMB Wing Lung Bank where she was the head of private banking and wealth management, and Tam was a senior relationship manager at Bank J Safra Sarasin.
Sharma has joined the bank’s North Asia Switzerland market team in Zurich. He was previously at Julius Baer where he was a senior advisor, covering the Great China markets since 2017.
Based in Singapore, Tano has joined the Greater China Singapore team from DBS Private Bank, and he has also worked for BNP Paribas and Julius Baer.
Finally, Li will focus on Japan and Korea from her base in Hog Kong, and comes from UBS where she spent 12 years.
Franklin Templeton appoints Asia distribution head
today announced the appointment of Tariq Ahmad as Head of Asia Distribution. Since 2017, he had served as a leader of Brandywine Global Investment Management (Brandywine Global), a specialist investment manager of Franklin Templeton.
In his new role with Franklin Templeton as head of Asia distribution, Tariq Ahmad will provide executive oversight of sales, marketing and product strategy efforts across Asia (excluding Japan, India and mainland China). He will provide strategic direction on product innovation and customised investment services to cater to shifting client needs in Asia. Ahmad will also continue to support distribution efforts to deepen and enhance relationships with key Asian retail and institutional clients.
An 18-year industry veteran, Ahmad was previously director, head of Asia and CEO of Brandywine Global Investment Management. Based in Singapore, he will report to Vivek Kudva, head of Apac distribution.
Lombard Odier poaches from Credit Suisse
Lombard Odier has hired two strategic senior staff as part of its growth strategy in Asia. Carol Chan joins as chief operating officer and reports to Vincent Magnenat, limited partner and chief executive officer, Asia. With over 30 years of experience in private and investment banking operations for global banks, she was most recently managing director at Credit Suisse running its regional and global operations.
Annie Lim joins as Senior Relationship Manager, reporting to Valérie d’Argembeau, head of private clients, Singapore. Before joining Lombard Odier, Lim was a senior relationship manager at Credit Suisse and has over 26 years of banking experience under her belt.
Both new hires are based in Singapore.
