Ho started her part-time sabbatical with immediate effect, the sovereign wealth fund said in a statement.
“She will continue with her board duties and specific stewardship duties.”
Ho joined Temasek in 2002 as an executive director and was elevated to the role of CEO in 2004.
Prior to joining Temasek, she worked as president and CEO of Singapore Technologies Group.
During her absence, Lee Theng Kiat, president, will take charge of her role.
Lee joined Temasek in April 2012. Prior to Temasek, Lee was the president and CEO of ST Telemedia and held various senior positions in Singapore Technologies.
Set up in 1974, Temasek is an investment company based in Singapore. It had S$223bn ($164.6bn) in assets under management on 31 March.
Temasek, which has offices in 11 cities around the world, established its London office in March last year.
