HSBC has announced the appointment of Sami Abouzahr as global head of investments and managed solutions, wealth and premier solutions, effective 1 July 2025.
In his new role, Abouzahr (pictured) spearheads the bank’s wealth product strategy and delivery of sustainable investment, fund, discretionary portfolio management and alternative investment solutions to private banking and premier wealth clients globally, according to a statement by the UK bank.
Based in Hong Kong, Abouzahr continues to report to Lavanya Chari, head of wealth and premier solutions, HSBC. With the expanded responsibilities of this role, he also leads the bank’s ultra-high net worth solutions group to use the team’s expertise in driving seamless client experience for ultra-high net worth individuals, families and entrepreneurs worldwide.
Abouzahr is currently head of wealth and premier solutions, Hong Kong, and continues to lead the team until the appointment of his successor. Throughout his career in financial services, he has held several leadership positions across the bank’s operations in Hong Kong, mainland China and the UK, spanning wealth management, asset management and wholesale banking.

This appointment will reinforce the implementation of our market insights to guide our clients in accessing investment opportunities across regions, sectors and asset classes.”
