Valerie Huang has been promoted to co-portfolio manager of the $286.9m Guinness Asian Equity Income and $3.1m Guinness Best of Asia funds, the firm announced this morning.
She joins chief investment officer and head of Asian and emerging markets investments Edmund Harriss, as well as portfolio managers Mark Hammonds and Sharukh Malik.
Huang (main picture) has been with the team since 2022 as an investment analyst for Asia and emerging markets.
Commenting on the appointment, Huang said: “It is an exciting time to be a portfolio manager in Asia and emerging markets as investors look to the economic dynamism and portfolio diversification they offer.”
Harriss added: “This well-deserved promotion recognises the valuable contribution Valerie has made and continues to make in building our Asia and EM franchise.”
She previously served as a research analyst at Ardevora Asset Management for more than three years and a market risk analyst at Eni Trading & Shipping.
