Julius Baer names new COO for Asia

Pamela Tseng replaces Andreas Zingg, who is retiring.

Julius Baer has announced the appointment of Pamela Tseng as chief operating officer Asia, effective 16 November 2026.

Based in Singapore, Tseng (pictured) will be responsible for driving key business improvements in both client and employee experience in Asia. She will report to Jean Nabaa, chief operating officer and member of the Executive Board, and Jimmy Lee, region head Asia and member of the Global Wealth Management Committee.

She joins Julius Baer from Standard Chartered Bank, where most recently she held the role of global chief operating officer for Private Banking, having previously been COO for wealth solutions and affluent banking. Prior to joining Standard Chartered Bank, she held senior leadership roles at Citi in New York and Hong Kong, and earlier with Accenture in Singapore and Beijing.

The bank also announced that Andreas Zingg, the current chief operating officer Asia, will retire from Julius Baer after 23 years with the bank. Tseng will work closely with Zingg to ensure a smooth transition.

Commenting on the appointment, Nabaa said: “I am delighted to welcome Pamela Tseng to the bank. Her proven track record in overseeing complex, large-scale operations, driving strategic transformation, and cultivating high-performing teams will be a tremendous asset to the group.

“Given her deep understanding of Asian markets, I am confident she will further strengthen our capabilities across the region. I look forward to working closely with her as we continue to advance our business in Asia and globally and deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients. At the same time, I would like to thank Andreas Zingg for his contributions and wish him a fulfilling next chapter.”
