Barclays appoints Private Bank head for Asia
Wee Yee-Yong joins Barclays from Morgan Stanley.
Kate Chung and Benny Cheung have been appointed to newly created roles.

BNP Paribas Asset Management has named Kate Chung and Benny Cheung as ETF sales specialist, Southeast Asia & India, and client relationship manager, ETF specialist, Hong Kong respectively.
Chung is based in Singapore and reports directly to Angelia Chin-Sharpe, chief executive officer Singapore – head of distribution Southeast Asia & India, global client group, liquid strategies. Hong Kong-based Cheung reports to Peggy Lee, chief executive officer Hong Kong – head of distribution Hong Kong & China Offshore, global client group, liquid strategies.
These are newly created roles support the firm’s ambition to scale its ETF platform and distribution reach – targeting more than €100bn in net inflows by 2030, according to a statement by the asset manager.
Prior to joining BNP Paribas Asset Management, Chung worked at HSBC Asset Management Singapore, where she led ETF and indexing sales across Southeast Asia, and previously held an ETF distribution role at BlackRock Hong Kong.
Cheung was at legacy AXA IM Select, after holding senior positions at DWS Xtrackers, Vanguard and Allianz Global Investors.

BNP Paribas Asset Management has recently launched more than 75 new ETFs, including active ETFs and innovative strategies, and by expanding distribution across wealth platforms and digital channels, said the statement.
