Former HSBC banker Lina Lim moves to new BlackRock role

Lina Lim has been hired as head of commercialization Asia Pacific for Citi Portfolio Solutions Powered by BlackRock (CxB).

BlackRock has announced the appointment of Lina Lim as head of commercialization Asia Pacific for Citi Portfolio Solutions Powered by BlackRock (CxB), effective today.

In this newly created role, Lim will lead the expansion of the CxB platform across Asia Pacific, working across the business to bring BlackRock’s customised investment capabilities to wealth clients in the region and deepen the offering for Citi clients, according to a statement by the asset manager.

CxB was launched in late 2025, managing approximately $80bn in assets for Citi’s private banking clients globally. The platform combines investment advisory and planning capabilities of Citi with the investment management and technology strengths of BlackRock centred on a whole portfolio approach.

Lim (pictured) is based in Hong Kong, reporting to Andrew Landman and Rob Jasminski.

She has three decades of experience across asset and wealth management, with a record of building and scaling managed solutions platforms for clients. She was most recently regional and Hong Kong head of discretionary, funds and ETFs at HSBC, where she led the managed investment solutions business across the full client spectrum, from retail and affluent investors to ultra-high-net-worth individuals.

Lim has also held senior regional leadership roles at JP Morgan in Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as senior portfolio management roles at Sumitomo Mitsui Asset Management.

Andrew Landman, BlackRock’s deputy head of Asia Pacific and head of Wealth for Asia Pacific, commented, “We are delighted to welcome Lina to BlackRock. Her extensive expertise across asset and wealth management makes her exceptionally well positioned to help drive the continued growth of Citi Portfolio Solutions Powered by BlackRock and expand managed accounts offerings for wealth clients across Asia Pacific.”

Rob Jasminski, global head of Citi Portfolio Solutions Powered by BlackRock, added, “Lina’s appointment underscores our commitment to meeting growing demand for managed accounts offerings. Her leadership and deep industry experience will be instrumental in expanding our capabilities and delivering more tailored investment solutions for clients.”
