Capital Group to launch UCITS active ETFs in Asia and Europe

The asset manager will launch four strategies in the first quarter of 2027.

Capital Group has received regulatory approval from the central bank of Ireland to launch its first UCITS active exchange-traded-funds (ETFs).

The $3.6trn asset manager said it will launch four strategies for the Europe and Asia-Pacific markets in the first quarter of 2027 via a UCITS ETF structure.

The four active ETFs will consist of three equity strategies and one fixed income strategy: Global Growth Equity, US Core Equity, US Dividend Value and Global Bond Plus.

Capital Group already has $160bn across 25 active ETF strategies and eight ETF model portfolios in the US, and seven in Canada.

Guy Henriques, president, Europe and Asia-Pacific client group, Capital Group, said: “Investors increasingly want the flexibility and efficiency of ETFs alongside the benefits of active management.”

“Our active ETFs are among the fastest growing in the U.S., and bringing this offering to Europe and Asia-Pacific strengthens our position to be the investment partner of choice for intermediaries and institutional clients around the world.”

Jamie Sinclair, head of ETF product and sales, Europe and Asia‑Pacific, Capital Group, said: “Investor demand for active ETFs continues to grow and we are focussed on broadening how investors worldwide access Capital Group’s active investment capabilities.”
