Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) Asia has appointed Mark Wang as insurance solutions strategist, based in Hong Kong, according to an internal announcement seen by FSA.
Wang will lead the investment manager’s insurance business in the region “to bring industry expertise closer to clients”
“By leveraging our differentiated investment capabilities and specialized resources across the integrated firm, he will partner with investment teams and sales teams to deliver tailored investment solutions, and cultivate strategic relationships with insurance companies in Asia,” according to the internal announcement.
Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Wang (pictured) was a CIO of insurance companies for 16 years.
He was global chief investment officer at HSBC Insurance for more than six years, chief investment officer at Singapore insurer NTUC Income, CIO and later CEO at AIA pension & Asset Management, Malaysia, and chief investment officer at ING Insurance, Malaysia, according to Wang’s LinkedIn profile.
Europe and the UK dominated dividend distributions in the second quarter.
Allen Chiu, head of discretionary and funds specialists, Hong Kong, will cover Lim’s role on an interim basis.
Wealthy investors are also broadening their portfolios for long-term growth.
