The Hong Kong-based private equity firm has raised $300 million for its strategy.

ZQ Capital, a Hong Kong-based private equity firm focused on accelerating Asian growth for Western companies, announced the oversubscribed final close of its flagship fund at its fundraising target of $300m.
The fund saw strong participation from both existing and new investors, further broadening a institutional investors and family offices spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, according to a statement by the firm.
ZQ Capital has committed $35m of its own capital to the fund, representing over 10% of total commitments and exceeding the industry standard for General Partner participation.
“Reaching our $300m target reflects the confidence our investors have placed in a thesis that remains differentiated in today’s market, and we are deeply grateful for their support,” said Simon Shen, chairman and chief investment officer of ZQ Capital.
The fund aims to control buyouts of late-stage, small- to mid-cap companies in developed markets with strong underlying fundamentals but limited Asian presence.
ZQ Capital helps these Western companies scale by leveraging Asia’s supply chains, technology networks, and expanding consumer markets.
“Asia continues to be one of the world’s most important economic regions, yet many leading businesses from developed markets are still only beginning to realise the opportunities it offers,” Shen said.
The fund applies a selective approach to control investments in sectors where ZQ Capital’s Asia network and operational capabilities create direct and measurable impact, including consumer, education, healthcare, environmental, and finance, said the statement.
Calvin Liew will lead the firm’s next phase of growth in Southeast Asia.
