JBNWM hires veteran sales leader for Japan wealth push

Most recently Junichiro Ozawa was head of the retail sales division at Pictet Japan.

Junichiro Ozawa has joined Julius Baer Nomura Wealth Management (JBNWM) as head of sales and Japan representative, effective 3 August 2026, pending regulatory approval.

Based in Tokyo, he is a member of the executive board of JBNWM and reports to Christian Cappelli, CEO Julius Baer Nomura Wealth Management.

In this role, Ozawa-san is responsible for accelerating JBNWM’s sales momentum, strengthening strategic alliances, and expanding its footprint across Japan’s dynamic wealth landscape, according to a statement by Julius Baer.

With over 29 years of experience in wealth management and financial services, Ozawa-san has held senior leadership roles across Japan and Europe. Most recently, he was head of the retail sales division at Pictet Japan, where he was responsible for distribution and strategic partnerships with financial institutions.

Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at Legg Mason Asset Management, focusing on intermediary and institutional channels.

“Ozawa-san brings extensive expertise in client solutions and business development, having worked closely with private banks, asset managers, and family offices. His experience spans both domestic and international markets, including a decade based in Germany managing relationships with institutional clients in Europe,” said the statement.
