Federated Hermes has strengthened its private equity team in Singapore with the appointment of Dean Lee as senior associate. Lee will be responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, due diligence and monitoring of direct/co-investments, secondaries and funds across Asia Pacific.

He previously worked in investment banking at Morgan Stanley and Standard Chartered, where he advised private equity firms and Korean conglomerates on M&A and capital market transactions. Lee passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exams and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Professional Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin.

With $5.9bn in assets under management (as at 31 March 2026), Federated Hermes private equity is an active and long-time investor in global private equity with an established presence in Singapore over a decade. For over 30 years, the firm has focused on co-investment, primary fund investment, secondaries and other specialist strategies, focusing on the lower mid-market buyout opportunities.

This appointment demonstrates Federated Hermes’ continued strategic focus on growth in the APAC region, according to a statement by the asset manager, having recently announced the plans for a new Hong Kong office, and senior distribution appointments including Edward Lo as head of wholesale business development, Asia ex-Japan and Ryan Christianson as associate director based in Japan.
