Amundi strengthens its investment platform in Asia

The five internal appointees have been re-located to Hong Kong and Singapore.

Amundi has announced several appointments in Asia, further strengthening its investment capabilities to serve clients locally and continue capturing growth opportunities in the region.

Since the beginning of the year, Amundi has reinforced its Asia investment hub through the relocation and appointments of key investment leaders to the region, according to a statement by the France-headquartered asset manager, a subsidiary of the Crédit Agricole group.

John O’Toole is the cornerstone of this initiative, as the newly appointed chief investment officer, Asia while also retaining his current global responsibilities as global head & CIO of Amundi’s solutions platform. O’Toole will be based in Hong Kong.

Alongside his appointment, several other senior investment professionals have taken on roles in Asia. These include:

Andriy Boychuck, global deputy head of emerging markets fixed Income, is based in Singapore since May 2026.

Ray Jian has been named head of fixed income North Asia and head of emerging markets debt aggregate Strategies, based in Hong Kong, in July 2026.

Nick McConway, head of emerging markets equities, Asia, will relocate to Singapore in September 2026.

Siddharth Sanghvi is appointed emerging markets equity senior portfolio manager, based in Singapore in September 2026.

Staff backgrounds

O’Toole joined Amundi in 2005 as global head of fund research & manager selection. He was appointed global head of fund solutions in 2010, global head & CIO of Amundi’s solutions platform in 2022, and additionally chief investment officer, Asia ex Japan for Amundi in 2026. He is a member of Amundi Executive Committee.

Prior to joining Amundi, John O’Toole was a senior portfolio manager at Luxembourg-based IKANO family office. He also worked as a fixed income portfolio manager & solutions structurer at Coutts Private Bank and as a fixed income portfolio manager at Legal & General Investment Management in London. O’Toole started his career with Barclays Global Treasury, before qualifying as a corporate treasurer with Legal & General Group Treasury.

Boychuck hasover two decades of experience in emerging markets and high yield credit. Prior to his relocation to Asia, he was based in London as the deputy head of emerging markets fixed income and co-head of emerging markets and high yield corporates since 2023. Before that he was head of emerging markets research, a role which he held for almost 10 years. Boychuck joined Amundi in 2007 as a credit analyst.

Jian has more than 19 years of experience in global emerging markets and high yield credit. Prior to his relocation to Asia, he was based in London as head of emerging markets debt aggregate strategies. Jian joined Amundi in 2013 as an investment analyst and became a portfolio manager in 2016. Prior to joining Amundi, he worked at the London Branch of Bank of China as a fixed income trader for six years. 

McConway has more than 25 years of experience in Asian and emerging markets equities. He joined Amundi in 2017 and has led the Asia ex-Japan equity perimeter since 2020, managing a team of portfolio managers across London, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur. He has also held the roles of head of concentrated and thematic strategies and head of Greater China equities based in London. Before joining Amundi, McConway spent over a decade at Pioneer Investments in Singapore and London, including as lead portfolio manager for the Pioneer China fund.

Sanghvi has over twenty years of investment experience. He joined Amundi in 2008 as Asia equity analyst and was promoted to head of emerging markets equity research in 2019. Prior to joining Amundi he worked as a sell-side analyst at Edelweiss Capital in Mumbai.
