Long has been appointed to strengthen KGI’s wealth advisory business.

KGI has appointed Aaron Long as managing director, Wealth Management, as the Asian financial institution stated its commitment to developing its wealth management business in the region.
Long will be based in Hong Kong, reporting to James Wey, head of International Wealth Management. He will lead initiatives to strengthen KGI’s wealth advisory practice, accelerate distribution across wealth-related products, and develop integrated solutions for clients’ sophisticated needs, according to a statement by the firm.
Wey said: “This appointment strengthens our wealth advisory capabilities, enhancing our holistic solutions for clients’ long-term wealth planning goals. Aaron’s proven success in developing advisory-focused wealth planning practices will be key as we expand our product range across our comprehensive wealth platform.”
Long has extensive experience from senior roles at HSBC, Manulife, AIG, and Aflac across both China and the United States. In recent years, he spent five years at HSBC China’s wealth management business and, in 2022, he founded and served as the inaugural CEO of HSBC life insurance brokerage firm.
KGI was set up in 1997, and covers wealth management, brokerage, fixed income, and asset management in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand.
Mahesh Ramakrishnan and Shikhy Chandhok join Bank of Singapore in Dubai this month.
Lo will be replaced by Marty Franc as head of Asia Pacific.
Based in Singapore, Ray Sharma-Ong will also head DPM.
