Indosuez strengthens leadership team in Asia

Muriel Aboud Schirmann and Louis Shen take on senior roles in Singapore.

Muriel Aboud Schirmann, head of advisory and capital markets at Indosuez Wealth Management, Switzerland, will relocate from Geneva to be based in Singapore as of 1 August 2026.

Schirmann began her career at Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank and has over two decades of experience in financial services. She joined Indosuez in Switzerland in 2009, where she held senior investment and advisory positions leading teams across multiple products and asset classes.

She reports to Laurent Fradin, head of wealth solutions, Switzerland for Indosuez Wealth Management.

The relocation of the global management of Indosuez’s advisory solutions and capital markets to its Asia headquarters in Singapore reflects the private bank’s deep commitment to Asia’s unprecedented wealth creation and rapid growth,” according to a statement by the bank.

“Crucially, this move deepens the vital nexus between Europe and Asia as clients increasingly seek sophisticated, cross-border financial solutions,” it said.

In a complementary move to strengthen its investment management capabilities, Indosuez has appointed Louis Shen as head of discretionary portfolio management (DPM) for Asia. He joins Indosuez from Nomura, where he was leading the DPM team.

Elevating Indosuez’s DPM proposition is a major strategic imperative as Asian clients increasingly seek institutional-grade portfolio construction and active risk management to better navigate dynamic market cycles, said the statement.

In this newly established position, Shen is responsible for accelerating disciplined, performance-oriented portfolio management for clients seeking a highly structured, customised approach to managing their wealth.

Shen brings close to 20 years of financial services experience to his role, including over 13 years of experience in DPM management at leading financial institutions including UOB Private Bank, Nomura and EFG. He reports to Su Qian, head of investment management, Asia.

Laurent Proutière, chief executive officer Asia, Indosuez Wealth Management, commented: “Bringing Muriel in her senior leadership role from Switzerland to Singapore, alongside the creation of the new head of DPM role in Louis, marks a significant milestone in our ambitions.”

“Together, these moves significantly enhance our investment management ecosystem, ensuring our clients gain immediate access to top-tier advisory, institutional discretionary solutions, and private market opportunities right here in Asia.”
