IG Group Holdings plc has appointed Saad Ahmed as managing director, Apac, with immediate effect. Ahmed will strengthen the company’s leadership team as it continues to sharpen its trading and investing offering across one of the world’s fastest-growing regions for retail participation in financial markets, according to a statement by the firm.
Based in Singapore, he will lead IG’s consumer business across Asia Pacific. The group has continued to invest in its business across the region, launching share trading in Singapore in 2025, followed by Australia.

Ahmed has more than a decade of experience scaling fintech and platform businesses across Asia, having previously served as Apac CEO of cryptocurrency exchange Gemini and held senior regional leadership roles at Grab and Uber, where he led commercial, merchant platform, growth and strategic expansion initiatives across Southeast Asia and the broader Asia Pacific region.
