HSBC Asset Management has launched the HSBC MSCI China Robotics UCITS ETF.
With fees of 0.5%, the new index-tracking ETF targets companies involved in the development of robotics across the Chinese market, aiming to replicate the performance of HSBC’s MSCI China All Shares IMI Robotics Select Index.
Investing in a combination of small, medium, and large caps, the fund targets companies involved in industrial, non-industrial, autonomous, and humanoid robotics.
The ETF also offers exposure to technologies supporting the adoption of robotics across manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and agriculture.
The fund will select up to 40 companies from the MSCI China All Shares IMI Index, with no more than 5% in each stock. Each pick will be subject to liquidity, eligibility and other screening criteria, with biannual reviews of each selection.
Olga de Tapia, global head of ETF and indexing sales at HSBC AM, said: “China has become the world’s largest market for industrial robots and is playing an increasingly important role in bringing artificial intelligence from the digital world into the physical economy.
“Some of the most significant innovation in robotics is taking place in China, supported by the country’s manufacturing expertise, broad domestic supply chains and policy support for embodied intelligence.”
