Asset manager demand accelerates for alts
Investors want alternative assets, and traditional asset managers want to provide them. Rather than do it themselves, many firms have been opting to partner up.

Schroders Wealth Management announced senior appointments across its Asia business, strengthening its leadership and capabilities as it continues to invest in the region. The appointments span investment advisory, relationship management and marketing and communications:
Andrea Li is appointed head of investment advisory, Asia. She Andrea joins from J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where she spent more than 13 years advising ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals, family offices and multi-generational families across China, Taiwan and Southeast Asia. Most recently, she was a senior investor team lead and executive director, responsible for delivering multi-asset investment advice to some of the region’s most sophisticated clients. She has held senior investment roles at Merrill Lynch, ING Private Bank and Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ.
Victor Chow is appointed senior relationship manager, UHNW & family offices. He has more than 20 years of experience across wealth management, private markets, credit investing and alternative investments. Most recently, he was head of fixed income, private equity and real estate at CrimsonOx Capital, a Singapore-based single-family office, where he led direct and co-investment opportunities across private credit, private equity, secondaries and real estate, and served as a voting member of the firm’s Investment Committee. Chow has has also held senior investment positions at ANZ, The Royal Bank of Scotland, Marathon Asset Management and Merrill Lynch.
Jyane Quek is appointed head of marketing & communications, Asia, and has almost two decades of experience leading marketing, brand and growth strategies across the financial services, technology and media sectors. Prior to joining, she was global head of marketing strategy for consumers, private and business banking at Standard Chartered Bank, where she was responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies across multiple business lines and international markets.

Following its initial launch in Hong Kong, Singapore is the second market to introduce HSBC Access.
The fund will list on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong on 15 September with a board lot size of 100 shares.
