Schroders names HK distribution head

Ex-Aussie superfund CEO Chris Durack has assumed the newly-created role of head of distribution in Hong Kong.

Durack joined the Hong Kong office on February 1.

He has responsibility for leading the firm’s Hong Kong intermediary sales, institutional sales, and marketing teams.

He reports to Lieven Debruyne, CEO of the firm’s Hong Kong office.

Debruyne said in a statement he believed Durack’s appointment will benefit the firm’s sales and marketing efforts and communication with clients and stakeholders.

Durack joined Schroders in Australia in October 2011 as director and head of product and distribution. Prior to that he was CEO of Australian superannuation fund NSW State Super.

Durack also held senior roles at Australian fund managers Perpetual Limited and Challenger Limited and has asset consulting experience from his time at Mercer and Towers Perrin, the firm said.
