Prout will be responsible for the development and growth of the firm’s business in the region, as well as engaging with a range of stakeholders including clients and regulators.

He will assume his role in November and will report to Nicolas Moreau, the firm’s London-based chairman and head, and to Thorsten Michalik, Frankfurt-based head of the global client group for EMEA and APAC.

FSA sought more information from Deutsche Asset Management, but the firm was not able to reply in time for publication about whether he replaces Jon Eilbech, the firm’s global chief operating officer and head of Asia-Pacific.

Before Deutsche AM, Prout was Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s chief operating officer for global sales and distribution. Prior to that he worked at Invesco Asset Management and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.
