Ben Sheehan, a Hong Kong-based senior investment specialist at abrdn focused on equities, has left the UK-based asset manager.

Sheehan, who has worked at abrdn for the past three-and-a-half years, has been heavily involved with helping to grow the firm’s China A-share business as well as the launch of several funds including the Lux Global Dynamic Dividend and China Next Generation.

He is currently taking a career break.

Sheehan previously worked at HSBC Asset Management for nearly 12 years, where he was most recently a senior product specialist for Asian equities. Prior to that, he was a fund analyst at S&P.

A spokesperson for abrdn said the firm was making an internal transfer to replace Sheehan and looking to add additional headcount to its equities investment specialist team in Asia, although he declined to provide details on the replacement.
